It’s just a day now until the conference opens and it promises to be our best year yet with charismatic keynotes, more parallel sessions that ever before and a fantastic venue at Cardiff University. The evening events also look set to wow, with the Networking Evening at Caerphilly Castle and the conference dinner at the National Museum of Wales. Our first event in a castle and a national institution! This year also sees 5 years of LILAC and to mark the occasion several of us from the original LILAC 2005 committee will be cutting a cake tomorrow evening, plus we have LILAC tour t-shirts available for all delegates! We’ve also been able to sponsor six library school students to attend the conference this year, as part of our commitment to the library profession.
People have been asking if they can follow the conference from a distance and in due course we will have presentations from the parallel sessions on the conference website. We’ll also be recording the keynotes and have those available shortly. For a more immediate way of following the conference several of us are using Twitter, so you can follow the Tweets using the tag #LILAC or #lilac09. There’s also several keen bloggers attending the conference, such as Sheila Webber, so be sure to check for blogs posts. I’ll add a link to a blog search on the term LILAC 2009.
